I like that you've darkened the edges to draw more attention to his face...but do you think you may have overdone it a little? The portrait itself is centred as it is, and his eyes just scream out for attention - I don't know if you really need the subdued edges as well to emphasize the centre. Plus, I kinda want to see what's going on around him a little more - why is he seeking you out, is there a clue to the story in the background? Just some thoughts
